This was the first academic event jointly organized by the RIJS at Kanda University of International Studies and the East Asian Studies Research Center at the Universit\u00e9 libre de Bruxelles after the signing of the academic cooperation agreement between the two institutions.<\/p>\n<p>The aim of the conference was to provide a platform for scholars in the field of Asian Studies and world philosophies to both discuss and perform the task of translating Asian philosophical texts into western languages. Topics discussed included the philosophy of translation, critical analyses of existing translations, or ongoing translation projects. There were twenty presenters at the conference, from academic institutions in Europe, Asia, and the United States.
