Welcome to the RILAE Academy, our newest initiative to celebrate our first ten years. Through the RILAE Academy, we aim to provide accessible professional development courses and micro-credentials to educators and education administrators interested in developing knowledge and practice in language learner autonomy.
Over the coming years, we will be making a series of on-demand courses available. We have started with our free taster course on advising in language learning, which takes around 75 minutes to complete. At the end of the course, please give us some feedback so we can continue to make improvements.

Contents of the taster course on advising in language learning
By the end of the taster course, you will be able to:
- define advising in language learning (ALL) and understand how it might differ from teaching,
- discuss the roles of advisors in promoting learner autonomy,
- name 3 core principles of ALL, and
- recognize 5 basic advising strategies.
